PAWNS OF WAR (Zenobi Software) Spectrum 48K/128K+2 Written in the best traditions of "stirring tales" and "ripping yarns", PAWNS OF WAR 1&2 pit a lone hero against the might of the massed forces of the enemy. Armed with only the scant knowledge gleaned from the pre-mission briefings, YOU must make your way behind enemy lines and locate the "target" you have been entrusted to destroy. Once there, it is up to you to put your training to its test and to utilise whatever means necessary to complete your mission. Success will undoubtedly result in your grateful country awarding you their highest honour, whilst failure can only mean one thing . ........ PAWNS of WAR 1 In this game you must make your way overland to the enemy base and then lay waste their plans to launch an awesome nuclear missile. Failure to do so, whilst not only resulting in certain death, will also mean the death of your homeland and loved ones as that is the programmed destination of the missile, so use every means possible to ensure that you succeed. THE INFILTRATOR (Pawns of War 2) Navigate the twisting river of a "third world" country and guide your one-man mini-sub to its destination. Once there search for and locate the canister of supplies dropped by your "back-up" team and use these to infiltrate the complex. Scour the complex for the means to destroy it and then make good your escape ... ... if you can. It will not be easy but the whole of the "free" world is relying upon you and failure will only mean the end of freedom as we now know it ......... NOTES These games will accept such complex commands as "OPEN THE SAFE AND REMOVE ALL BAR THE EMPTY WOODEN BOX" or "UNLOCK DOOR WITH THE SKELETON KEY". However, in most cases a simple "UNLOCK DOOR" will suffice provided you are carrying the appropriate key. The command "VOCAB" will offer you some appropriate commands to input, whilst it is also possible to save a game position to BOTH memory and/or tape (use the command appropriate for the action you require). For a more permanent record of the game ALWAYS chose the "save to tape" option. TIPS In "PAWNS of WAR" it will be necessary to enter certain things in order to search them more thoroughly, though never overstay your welcome ... especially if you wish to live long enough to complete your quest. In "The INFILTRATOR" it will be necessary to locate the supply canister in order to obtain some much needed supplies but remember that a dark canister floating in dark water in the middle of the night is not that easily seen! Also the cramped conditions in a mini-sub can often mean that you are unable to see what you are looking for even when it is right under your nose. PLEASE NOTE ... There is NO need to have completed either of the games before you are allowed to play the other one. Both games are totally independent of each other and can be played regardless of whether you have completed the other game or not.
