JERICHO ROAD Shards Software 1983 Jericho Road is a challenging adventure game that gives you the added satis- faction of exploring an old but real world. Set in biblical times, it has two levels of play. You will of course want to play the full version yourself. You can try out the Junior version on your less patient friends! Set in Southern Israel in the first century, the player must survive the rigours of Roman occupation, and cope with the perils of religious persecution. He is entrusted with a special mission on behalf of a persecuted minority, and has a part in decoding an ancient puzzle. Playing hints: - (a) In giving instructions to the computer, you will find that it understands two word commands best, e.g. GO NORTH or GET DONKEY (b) Common directions can usually be abbreviated to one letter, so the first instruction above can be entered as'N'. (c) The letter I (for Inventory) will give you a list of anything you have with you. (d) If in difficulty you can ask HELP. Sometimes this will give you a cross- reference to a part of the Bible, where you will find a further clue. (e) This game does not use a SAVE routine as there are a number of ways of achieving your objectives. You do not have to retrace your steps for information you have gained in previous play, though sometimes it is worth calling again on old friends.
