Bear Island

You are trapped somewhere in the Antarctic after your plane crashed. All you
have to do is survive until rescue arrives. This would present no problem but
you haven't any ammunition for your gun and there are a large number of angry
Polar Bears heading straight for you. Your only hope is to try to guide them
into the Eskimo fishing holes dotted around your ice flow.

A copy of 'Bear Island' is recorded on each side of the cassette, and both
copies have been VERIFIED to ensure they will LOAD. The program has been given
the name "bear" so to LOAD and RUN type;

    LOAD "bear" and press 'ENTER'

then start the tape recorder PLAYING. When it has LOADed stop the tape and then
rewind as leaving a tape in the middle could cause stretching.

The game starts by laying out a random arrangement of holes and bears.  You are
shown as a flashing red man, and it is wise to be ready to move immediately as
you are often very near a bear. Movement is achieved using the arrow keys (5, 6,
7 & 8). Note that you move faster to the Left which enables you to jump fishing
holes or bears.

Each frame you clear adds another bear and it becomes very difficult to avoid
capture. If you can survive a certain number of frames rescue arrives, but, what
colour is it ?  and how long do you have to survive ? I bet you can't find out!
