IMPORTANT - READ THIS FIRST --------------------------- TRANSPACK 2 and TAPE UTILITY D ------------------------------ You have puchased the lastest version of EITHER our TAPE UTILITY or our TRANSPACK PROGRAM which includes the new Tape Utility. The following is therefore included as a SUPPLEMENT to the other manuals which we enclose. They will refer to Tape Utility C, or Conversion utility 5 or Conversion utility 5f. Tape Utility C is now Tape Utility D, and Conversion Utilities 5 and 5f are now 6 and 6f respectively. As before, the CONVERSION UTILITY handles SPEEDLOCK and ALKATRAZ loaders, and the "f" version is for FIREBIRD. The three programs are saved onto your LERM tape in 2 ways, for convenience and for easy transferring to any disk drive system you may own. They are on the tape in the following order: 1. TUd - an updated version of TUc with faster response, more memory, tone changes during saves and on screen printing of memory remaining, blocks loaded and blocks saved with their length. It is designed for TAPE to TAPE copying and for drive transfer where you need to change fast loading bytes back to normal speed. 2. COMB - contains all programs saved as ONE block of machine code - it has TUd, CU6, and CU6f. ALL PROGRAMS ARE UNPROTECTED, (nearly), AND CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO YOUR DRIVE. 48K AND 128K MODES ARE SELECTED AUTOMATICALLY SO ALL PROGRAMS CAN BE LOADED IN 128K MODE. TUd and CU6f will only run in 48K mode. This is selected and your machine switched when these options are selected. TRANSFER TO DRIVE (plus TAPE to TAPE backup) ----------------- ALL three programs listed above have basic loaders that contain the necessary information to save the machine code contained in REM statements. The basic supplied will auto-run from line 10 - this simply loads in a CODE file from tape, then does an appropriate RANDOMIZE USR to run the machine code. So you can easily BREAK into the basic, and copy to TAPE or DISK. PLUS3 owners will have to enter LOAD"t:" as usual, to do a tape loading. For each program, simply wait until the BASIC has loaded from tape, then press to read the REM statements and STOP your LERM tape. Now enter the command LOAD"" CODE, start your recorder playing again, and wait until the CODE has loaded from TAPE. For each program, alter the SYNTAX of LINE 100 to suit your drive system. It must load in the appropriate CODE file. Then save the CODE with appropriate name, start address, and length, using the information given in the REM statement. Finally save the BASIC, with an appropriate name, to your drive to auto run from line 100. COMB - basic as above. "tpx.1" - CODE loads at 29460, it is 21955 bytes long and runs from 29460 ie. the RAND USR is 29460. NO CLEAR is needed. The CODE can be saved, with appropriate syntax so: SAVE "tpx.1" CODE 29460,21955 TUd - as above BUT the CODE is tux.1 - 47460,3850. It runs from 47460. Copyright LERM 1990
