MICROFAIR MADNESS (Zenobi Software) If you mention "conventions", "computer shows", or even "microfairs" to the normal computer user they immediately conjure up a mental picture of spotty kids in anoraks and trestle-tables stacked high with useless items of unwanted "junk" ... at least unwanted that is by the spotty little kid who is stood on the other side of the trestle table and eagerly awaiting the arrival of YOUR hard-earned coins into HIS hands. Some of us have attended such "gatherings" and some of us have wisely steered clear of them ... but that is all down to a matter of "taste" and not something to be discussed at any length in this short preamble ... So to those of you who have never been anywhere near such an event, now is your chance! Journey into this land of "make believe" and small cardboard boxes and meet some of the luminaries of the adventuring fraternity. Luminaries whose very names stir the blood of the adventure freaks milling around the trestle-tables and badly-scrawled notices advertising their wares. Luminaries who for the sake of unwanted libel action, and fear of reprisals, shall remain "nameless" ... at least until you encounter them during the course of the game. You will he magically transported to the entrance to "SIR CLIVE's EXHIBITION COMPLEX" and it will be up to you to seek out the means to enter this establishment. It will then be up to YOU to wander the complex and discover the hidden delights contained within. But be warned, all is not as it seems and even the darkest corners of the complex may not be half as hazardous as the small plastic boxes that are openly on sale on each and every trestle-table. Use your knowledge of "computer-land", and the "creatures" that roam there, to solve the myriad of puzzles that will be thrust in your direction and do your level best to lend a "helping hand" wherever one may, or may not, be needed. Success will not only allow you to complete the game but will give you access to a bonus game entitled ... "THE SEARCH FOR SMOK". However, you will need to negotiate BOTH levels of the complex before you can regard the game as completed. NOTES This game will recognise many of the "normal" command/inputs as its author could bring himself to remember ... you idle sod Gareth! ... but he has deigned to provide the player with a couple of extra commands, so use RAMSAVE to store a position to MEMORY and RAMLOAD to recall a stored position. Use the standard SAVE and LOAD to store a game position to DISK, thereby making a more permanent record of your progress. Remember any PASS PHRASE you may be given during the course of the game, as these will be needed to access the other level and the "bonus" game. GOOD LUCK! ... and remember, not even the author took this game that seriously!!!!!
