Lode Runner 

You are a highly trained Galatic Commando deep in enemy
territory.  Power hungry leaders of the repressive Bungling
Empire have stolen a fortune in gold from the peace loving
people, and you have just discovered their secret underground
treasury.  Your goal?  To recover every last ingot if Bungling
booty.  You'll be running, jumping and climbing heroically
solving perplexing puzzles and drilling passageways through stone
floors and barriers using your laser drill pistol.  You'll need
more than fleet feet and good looks to get through this mission
alive.  You'll need quick wits and brains!
 
Create your own games!  

Lode Runner is more than a fast action game.  It's a game
generator that lets you design your own puzzles and scenes.  You
can move, add and take away countless ladders, floors, trap
doors, crossbars, gold chest and Bungeling enemies.  It's easy
and there's no end to the varations, challange and fun.  

To move use keys:  

Q = Up ladders 
Z = Down ladders and drop from ropes 
I = Left 
P = Right 
N = Dig holes

Lode Runner has 150 different screens for your enjoyment, because
of the memory required to play this game, screens 1 to 75 are on
side one and screens 76 to 150 are on side two of the cassette. 
You can re-design any of the screens to your liking or you can
design your own screens, which can then be saved to tape and
loaded at a later time.  By holding down the shift key together
with other selected keys you can obtain extra features such as. 

Shift/L = Advance to next level 
Shift/M = Extra Men 
Shift/A = Abort screen on which you are playing 
Shift/R = Restart

SEQUELS/PREQUELS
There was a sequal, imaginitively called Loderunner 2.  This game
has also been reprogrammed professionally for the PC, adding many
other features.
