CONTROLS 5-8 = move cursor on screen/units/options in menus e = end of turn s = starting menu Ent = fire/choose z/Z = Zoom in/out, 4 levels (cyclic) c/C = Change display mode, 5 types (cyclic) x/X = eXchange with/carried n/N = find Next controlled token I = Influence M = allocate Movement m = switch VIEW/MOVE modes t/T = Take one/all r/R = Release one/all h = Heal (costs 1 pow.point) o = cause divine Occurence u = Undo last action (except Heal or Occurence) exchange - move controlled hero from a ship we don't don't control onto land; influence - position cursor on an token, gain control of that character; allocate movem. - costs 1 Pow.point but awards 1 glory point hero helpers - things like horses, swords, bows... increase hero's strength release/ take - works only on x3 and x4 magnification!; heal - increase hero's life level; fight - with monster or hero (as long as they're controlled by other god) or a quest, monster can't fight hero on a ship, firstly move over enemy token; withdraw from fight - press Enter while under controll, cowardy-custard can't start another fight nor can be healed until next god's turn; divine occurence - move 'viewing window' to the proposed disaster area, can be done once per turn Display Modes: - PICTURE - shows tokens; - CONTROL - shows strengths and defences, for controlled heroes in colour of controlling God; - UNASSISTED MOVEMENT - shows required movement points to move hero without use of horses or ships (monsters can't take horses/ships but can go into water) (heroes don't last very long in water on their own); - ASSISTED MOVEMENT - shows points needed to move hero/ship onto another type of terrain; - TERRAIN - just map, without any tokens. Beware, be familiar with all modes at each magnification (20 combinations!) THE MONSTERS ------------ Amycus - good boxer with spikey gloves Arachine - weaver whowas turned into spider Cacus - giant three-headed shepherd Cerberus - three-headed guard dog Charybdis - whirlpool that swallowed the sea Diomedes' Mares - savage horses who ate men Echidna - half woman, half serpent, who ate men Harpies - winged female monsters who snatched food from tables and made what was left uneatable Hesperides - guarded the Golden Apples Ladon - talking dragon with a hundred heads Minotaur - he ate children Nemean Lion - he couldn't be hurt with weapons Procrustes - he chopped tall people's legs off Python - three-feller with a jolly big axe Sciron - he kicked people off cliffs Scylla - she had 6 dog heads around her waist Sinis - he catapulted people from trees Talos - ran around a lot and threw rocks at ships Typhon - so big he could throw mountains THE QUESTS ---------- Ceryneian Hind - fast Cornucopia - give you loads of food and drink Golden Apples - powerful, very heavily guarded Golden Fleece - King Pelias wanted to get rid of Jason... Harmonia's Necklace - made wearer beautiful and lots jealous Helen - most beautiful woman Helios' Goblet - belonged to sun-god Hippolyte's Girdle - golden belt, proves wearer as most powerful woman Pegasus - winged horse Persephone - Hades took her down (underworld), mum look for her... Speaking Oak - tree that speaks Winged Sandles - wearer travel as fast as wind TIPS - exchange 'helpers' among your 2 heroes; - you don't get anything for killing hero, they're reborn somewhere else with original parameters but without control; - if a monster kills a monster no awards are given; - if hero kill monster controlled by another god, you get glory points 7.5% of monster's potential strength, or 5% if it was uncontrolled; - hero gains 7.5% or 5% of monster's potential strength and defence and 2 extra movement points; - 'balancing effect' - if god who just won a fight has loads of influence then he gets less glory points, but if all other gods are stronger then you then you'll get more... - when hero defeats a quest, and return to Mount Olympus, controlling god is awarded with 20 glory points for each quest (you can carry up to 3 at a time), quests can't be dropped or transfered; - 7.5% of quest's potential strength and defence goes to hero (plus 2 moving points), while god in control get 7.5% in glory points DIVINE OCCURENCES APOLLO - Storm -> Randomly moves any hero helpers in the affected area. Can only be used in land areas. ATHENE - Tempest -> Randomly moves ships in the affected area and heroes aboard ships. Ships will end up in water but heroes can end up either on land or in water. POSEIDON - Earthquake -> Randomly moves each hero in the affected sector. Can be used in land areas only. APHRODITE - Beguilement -> Randomly influences heroes controlled by other gods in the affected area. Influence points will be gained for each hero affected. DIONYSUS - Plague -> Randomly reduces the potential strength, defence and movement allocation of controlled heroes in affected area.
